Sarchinium

Sarchinium is a study on a medieval abbey ruins in a future-oriented world. In modern society, people look forward to redevelopment and change without looking back. Axelle VM Philtjens investigates the ruins of the abbey of Sint-Truiden, a historic site that’s partly lost to time and hidden due to urbanization.

Through the use of polaroids, Philtjens reconstructs the ruins and highlights the impact of time on the site.
